Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Short Studio (the "Service"), operated by the owner of this platform ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
Short Studio is an AI-powered video generation platform. You submit a topic and configuration options; the Service researches the topic and generates a short vertical video with narration, captions, and visuals, then makes it available for download. Video generation consumes credits, which you obtain through a monthly subscription plan or a one-time purchase. Plans differ in the monthly credits and creative features they include, as described on our pricing page.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@shortstudio.io if you suspect unauthorized use.
4. Credits and Payments
- Credits. The Service runs on credits; one credit produces one finished video. A credit is charged only when a video completes successfully, never for failed or canceled jobs. All prices are in USD.
- Subscriptions and one-time credits. Credits are purchased through Stripe as a recurring monthly subscription or a one-time purchase. Subscription credits are issued at the start of each billing period, do not carry over, and expire at the end of that period; one-time credits expire one year after purchase. Plan prices and credit allowances are shown at checkout.
- Automatic renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel. You may cancel at any time in the Billing section of your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which you are not charged again.
- Plan features. Your active subscription determines the creative features available to you. One-time credits purchased while you hold a subscription are added to your balance and remain subject to your current plan's features; full feature access through one-time credits is available only without an active subscription.
- Refunds. Credits that have already been used are non-refundable, as the generation cost is incurred the moment a video runs. If you have unused credits, the unused remainder of a one-time credit purchase, or you have cancelled a subscription and wish to have the unused portion reviewed, you may contact us at support@shortstudio.io; such requests are handled manually, on a case-by-case basis, may take time to process, and are not guaranteed. Except where required by applicable law, all other payments are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation stops all future charges, and your plan remains active through the end of the current billing period.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your payment card details.
5. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You are fully responsible for all content you generate or upload through the Service, including topics, scripts, images, audio, and any synthetic or cloned voices. You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate or distribute illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or threatening content
- Generate sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise adult content
- Infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right
- Impersonate any person, entity, or brand
- Clone or synthesize the voice of any person without their explicit consent
- Generate content that violates the rights, dignity, or privacy of any individual
- Circumvent or abuse rate limits, credits, or other service controls
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
We may automatically screen the topics and style descriptions you submit to check them against these rules, and may decline to generate a video. Declined requests do not consume credits.
6. Uploaded Content
By uploading music, voice recordings, or other files to the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You own or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for the uploaded content
- The upload does not infringe any third-party rights
- For voice reference uploads: you are the owner of the voice or have the explicit, informed consent of the person whose voice is being cloned
7. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of any original content you upload. You grant us a limited license to process your inputs solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of the videos generated from your inputs. You are solely responsible for ensuring generated outputs do not infringe third-party rights.
8. Content Retention
Generated video files are retained for approximately 30 days from creation, after which the file is deleted. Video metadata and history are retained indefinitely. If you publish a video to YouTube, the YouTube URL remains accessible through your history after file deletion. You are responsible for downloading videos within the retention window.
9. YouTube Publishing
The Service can, at your request, upload a finished video to a YouTube channel you connect in Account Settings. By connecting a channel you authorize us to upload to it on your behalf through YouTube API Services; uploads happen only on your explicit instruction: a per-video upload or an auto-upload option you enable. You set and control the title and description for each upload, and we publish them exactly as you enter them. Published videos are posted to your own channel under your YouTube account, and your use of YouTube remains subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. You are responsible for ensuring published content complies with YouTube's policies. You can disconnect the channel at any time in Account Settings or via your Google security settings.
10. Service Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service unavailability.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused credits are forfeited upon termination for cause.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will increment the version number and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after a version change requires re-acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
